Hey Lucy Thank you for featuring my blog! I have had an amazing load of hits because of your kind link!!! When the new stuff comes out I will send you a complimentary kit as a thank you xxx
You have a really beautiful home but what made me smile was that the chair in your second bedroom is exactly the same as one of the two missing from my dining setting. When I bought the set of English satinwood chairs in Tasmania, Australia there were 3 ordinary chairs and one carver (like the one on your bedroom. Originally there would have been 4 ordinary and two carver chairs. They are such elegant chairs and yours looks so right where it is. I wonder if once upon a time they were all together?
Well that's an amazing thought! My parents picked up this chair in a local auction or market, maybe in the 1950's or 60's but I am not sure. I have grown up with it and it is part of the family. The fabric on the seat is a lovely 1920's silk velvet which I love though the chair needs some tenderness now and that would mean replacing this lovely fabric ... but I do love to think my chair and yours could be related ... it would make a lovely story wouldn't it? Great to hear from you x
Lucy sent me your way...I love your place & I poured over every nook and cranny in the pictures...I could move right in!!! Inspiring too! Thx for sharing. Maryin
Have found you via Attic 24 and just wanted to comment on your beautiful home. I have serious envy of your amazing bookshelves.I am a complete book addict and they are my idea of heaven. Your home looks cosy and inviting and very interesting. Thank-you for sharing it :)
Hello - I love Lucy too!!! ad so found you, what a serene but vibrant home!!! Contradictory I know but that's how I felt after looking at all the pics and reading about your mother and father - I know about the Needlework Development from when I did my City & Guilds and am delighted to hear about the real life behind one of the people who did the work!!!
Just lovely!!! I thank Attic24 for turning me onto yet another great blog. And thank you to my mom for turning me onto Attic24. Oh no, now I have more reason to be on the computer. Hehehe.
