Sunday working in the garden

It has been beautiful, hot but a lovely breeze, all very well if it does blow all your newly packed label all over the garden ... but just to prove that all the kits are assembled if not by my own fair hand then by my much appreciated helpers ...

Here you can see what I have been doing today, making the needle cases and pulling thread for the new cushions. Some of these colours are for the yet to be assembled Stitch Cards (sorry they are taking so long but I am working on getting them die cut).

But the effort is worth it with an order going off to America tomorrow ... to The French Needle so if you are in US and want to buy a kit do go along to visit this lovely site. They will soon have the new cushion kits in stock.

Also some other news ... have a look at Creative Bloq for a little piece about some of the entrepreneurs on the School for Creative Start Ups course, including me.

So have a look at the the process ... it's not a bad place to work!

Here are some first proper photographs of the new kits made up and photographed by William Lingwood from The Pixel Kitchen. The response so far has been really great! So glad they are well liked. A large order from Royal School of Needlework was so encouraging too. Now I am cooking up some more designs for later in the year.

A Group Gathering

Very excited to be taking part in this exhibition with such a wonderful group of artists. You may remember me talking about it in The Shirt Collar Project post a while back. Kathleen Murphy has really come up trumps organising the culmination of this project and I can't wait to see the collars created by the other contributors. All the artists will also be exhibiting other pieces of their own work so if you are in the area do go along and have a look! Also check out the Group Gathering blog for more information about the artist involved. My own collar is pictured below ...

Makegood Festival

My stand at Makegood Festival 2014

Well it's over ... but the best thing was to meet those who braved Oxford Street's weekend throng to come to the Festival and find my stand to say hello! Thank you so much, it was quite wonderful to meet and talk to such lovely ladies (and the odd gentleman, no not "odd", you know what I mean)

Putting faces to names was great for me as I work here quietly most of the time, as now, the blackbird and wood pigeons are singing outside and there is a lawn mower going somewhere, tractor going by on the lane. The contrast to last week is spectacular! But I am so encouraged to keep going because I had so many positive comments about the work I know now I am doing it right!
Anyway for those who could not make it here are some photos of the show.
Now I have to get on with sorting out the chaos that is my workplace and get on with the business of running a business!
